Locals: Please Take Advantage of your DTV

I wish our local stations here start taking advantage of the new technology.

  Recently WISN-TV added morning news, pre-empting Saturday morning cartoons from 7 to 9 am, taking D.J. Kennedy off the air at 7.  Rather then taking off shows that people were watching, they could at least provide the other shows on WISN-DT, by airing news on 12-1, and Saturday morning cartoons on 12-2 and Sunday religious programming on 12-2.

Same with WCGV-TV which carries UPN network programming often interrupted with Milwaukee Brewer Baseball telecasts.  They could carry on their DTV transmitter, the Brewer game on 24-1, and UPN programming on 24-2.

Same goes with other stations that interrupt network programming for local programming, lets make use of the new technology.

Another vote for No Multicast and another vote for full bandwidth 1080i or 720P!!

UPN and WB Milwaukee don't use new technology anyways, so I'm not sure what network programming you're actually missing. All the HD stuff is not available here because Sinclair hasn't sold enough used cars or bought off enough Governors with free Helicopter rides to afford it. Buy/Rent the current and upcoming DVDs of Smallville, etc. and don't support $inclair.

I vote for multicasting and a 3 hour delay.  That's the best use of technology.

Just kidding of course.

Please stop using a 3 hour delay (10-1 & 10-2)

Please don't multicast when HD material is being shown on the primary channel (1-2 & 1-3)

I would have liked multi-casting during the duration of programming pre-empting and then switch back after it's done. 12-1 put on the Brewers game during the X-games on Sunday. Tee-ed me off. Othen then March madness and PBS's line up.... I don't like it.
