This is a press release I found on 58's site:

CBS 58 MILWAUKEE ANNOUNCES BROADCAST LAUNCH FOR HDTV SET FOR THIS MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2002
Station plans to set national precedent by multicasting up to four games simultaneously in digital television and high definition during the NCAA Tournament

MILWAUKEE, WI-CBS 58 Milwaukee announces its broadcast launch of digital television (DTV) on March 11 at 5:00pm. Sports fans with DTV televisions or set-top converters will have the opportunity to view portions of the NCAA Tournament in high definition (HDTV) on CBS 58 Milwaukee. The station also plans to offer HD viewers the option of choosing between up to four of the early NCAA Tournament games simultaneously through multicasting technology. The CBS Network also plans to broadcast portions of the early tournament rounds and the Final Four in high definition.

"Through the use of this new technology, we will have the option of either broadcasting games in high definition with great clarity or broadcast multiple games simultaneously, giving fans the choice of which game they wish to watch," commented Station Manager Jim Hall.

The official high definition channel number for CBS 58 designated by the FCC is Channel 46. Those viewers with newer DTV receivers offering viewers with HDTV-compatible television sets the opportunity to view programs at 1080 lines of resolution, versus todayƕs standard 480 lines of resolution or multiple programs in Standard Definition (SDTV). The clarity and depth of picture set a precedent for the television broadcast industry.

I am very happy to see the leader in OTA HD programming finally debut in Milwaukee. I hope that this leads to the other stations getting on the ball with regards to HD.

Oh yea, it would also be nice if we could get CBS to post a link to this website. The information on their website is pretty good, gives basic understanding. It would be neat to see a link using the HDTV/milwaukee logo and a link. They could even say something about..."For more information about HDTV in Milwaukee, please visit this site..."

Maybe something to approach in the live chat?
