I can go either directv or TWC any suggestions I feel from my research that I might be better with TWC??

I am looking at a Sony hdtv ready 34 in direct view.  Will I be able to use the DVI-HDTV connector with TWC,. With Direct TV??

Is it too early to invest $1000's of $$$$ in this technology ..should
I wait a year.  ??

I am looking at a Plasma that may not have a DVI_HDTV connector is this stupid??

This is just the start of my questions, I know I going to Have many many more.  Let me thank the users and moderators of

There are a bunch of people who will help you.  However, it might become a bit difficult when you ask questions like "should I buy a Ford or GM product?".  See what I mean?  Much of this is basic research and you decide if the amount of money you want to spend is stupid or not.   :D  If you have specific questions I think you will get some pretty fast answers.

Hope this helps.

The new Panasonic HD boxes have a dvi port.  I have TWC and am quite happy...but I don't drive either a Ford or GM :)

Why not both? Try TWC (little up-front investment). If you're not happy with cable, then consider a move to satellite.

Yes, too early - send me all your money. I'll hold onto it for a few years  ;)

None of the currently available plasma displays are capable of displaying 1080i in native resolution. They all down-rez to some extent. As for the DVI, are you worried about HDCP? Have to find someone with a crystal ball to answer that one! Otherwise, component connections should remain very common for quite some time

Welcome to the Forum. Keep asking, but as Rees mentioned, you'll have more sucess with specific questions. General preferences are hard to convey - kind of a "to each his own" thing.

I kinda thought that might happen ...
