Last night I got trapped with my Sony SAT-HD200  I couldn't channel down from 36-1  I could channel up though.  Strange.

Also nice that the classical music on 10-5 is stereo again.  Not that I listen to it, but the thought of mono classical music was disturbing to me.

If I am understanding correctly, Ch. 36 IS airing some program material (demo loop) on 35-1 / 36-1, correct?

I receive an excellent signal strength on on 35-1 / 36-1, but just a blank screen, which is all I have received since they started test transmissions.

The PSIP data '36-1 MPTV-2HD' does NOT automatically come up either, I have to go to 35-1, then manually enter 36-1 to see the 'MPTV2-HD' label.  Very odd.

I have two different Panasonic TU-DST-52's, both react the same, just a blank screen, but good signal strength. I am feeding a standard resolution NTSC set via S-video outputs.

The only other station to present this problem is UPN 50 (51-1) WPWR in Chicago, who occasionally has a blank screen, or no sound.

All other Milwaukee - Madison - Green Bay stations are received fine (exception being WITI in Milw. of course).

Anybody else experiencing this?

Not having any problem at all....I receive the PSIP data properly and the programming is flawless (so far).  I would suggest doing a rescan (I'm not familiar with your receiver) as most will scan the airwaves for all channels and decode the redirects and set everything up.  If after you do that...look at the signal strength.  The PSIP data is rather easy to receive, a very low bandwidth stream...the video data stream however is another story as your are talking a 6Mhz signal compressing a 19Mbs signal....sounds like you don't have enough signal to properly decode and display the programming that is airing.

My signal strength on 35-1 is high 80's to low 90's, an excellent signal level.

Did a rescan, no change, but 58's extra 3 virtual channels (1-4 to 1-6) came back, which I had previously deleted.

The Panasonic TU-DST52 will flat-out not receive the CH 36 digital programming, for reasons unknown.  Works fine on CH 10's 10-1 to 10-5.

I am stumped.

thor9,

I am getting the same thing on my Dish 6000, a strong signal on 35 (36-01) but a blank screen.  I have rescanned a couple of times since I first saw the blank screen yesterday.  I have seen no pixelation just black.  As a matter of fact I am getting a much stronger signal for 35 (36-01) than I am for 8 (10-01) though this is probably due to a UHF antenna and leaves.

QuoteWatched Allison Krause and Union Station on Soundstage last night on 36-1. PQ was excellent with the exception of periodic total "Green-outs".. 3 or 4 times during the hour, and half-dozen other instances of small blocks of pixelated green in sections of the picture.

Tom,

I watched this same Soundstage.  It was great, but I also noticed some very odd pixelations.  I agree with Pat that this was a sort of pixelation I have not seen in the past.  I would get thin streaks of green horizontally across my entire set.  I think I remember the sound popping out at these times as well.

The technical staff at MPTV apparently made a programming change today to their CH 35 data, and upon powering up my Panasonic TU-DST52 tonight, it immediately remapped 35-1 to 36-1 and displayed a picture on that channel for the first time.

Thanks Dave!

I just checked and I have a picture on 36-1 too!  Looks like they figured out that glitch.  Great signal, great picture, thanks MPTV.

Has anybody seen the time and date that 36-1 is sending jump all over the place? It seems to be random times and dates..... even years on my Samsung TS-160. I've only noticed it in the last 2 days. I don't remember it doing it at all the first days of 36-1's power up. When you call up a full program guide or the info button is when you see it. I left Mike a message last night to look into it. Have not taken a look today. Anybody else see it?

Don't forget... Soundstage tonight at 9:

36-1... The Doobies...Motown... WOW !

Other than a little pixelation about 15 minutes in, just stunning:)

Dave
I kinda thought that might happen ...
