Looks like PAX finally turned their DTV transmitter on! It's on Channel 40.

Don't know if PAX Network does any HD, and the picture looks like it's just an off-air feed that's getting rebroadcast.

But it's an incredibly strong signa l... getting a 94 out here with my indoor antenna.

So that makes all the major stations in Milwaukee on the air with a decent signal out in the 'burbs, with Fox 6 being the lone, sad and sorry exception.

Thanks for the heads up.  I'm glad they are sending a strong signal.  35-1 should be on the air this month it sounds like.  It is sad that 6-1 is so far behind the pack.

Ha, I was just rescanning with HiPix to dump 1.4-1.6 and saw 10.2-10.6 and a 55.1.

Nice solid signal (haven't watched yet) here as well.  What's 35.1 going to be, the shopping channel?

What happened to 10.1? Is this the fiasco at PBS people have been talking about?

85- for 55.1 (ABC and NBC too)
versus
65ish for 1.1
35 for 24.1
0ish for 18.1
O for 6.1

35.1 is analog 36's digital signal.  It sounds like it will be mapped to 10.1.

I wonder why PAX 55.1 is sending out their signal this way.  It's so strange seeing ghosts on a digital channel.

55-DT is tranmitting from the Channel 4 tower, right?

StarvingForHDTV

They probably are on the channel 4 tower I would think.  Other than the first couple days of signals I haven't seen anything from 55-1.  Maybe they are working on a solution to the ghosting issue.

On a side note, it didn't seem like the digital signal was even in stereo when it was being sent.  Did anyone else notice that?

Actually, 55 digital is on the community tower along with 10 and 36. That's the candelabra style tower about a quarter mile north of TMJ's tower.

As much as I've been hard on CBS for their low bandwidth, I'm getting a nice solid signal on 55.1 and their 4:3 Packer's highlights just look awful.

How long has this station been back on the air?

I thought they went off the air for a period of time due to their causing interfence with other stations.

I don't recall ever seeing WPXE broadcast in HDTV.  Have they broadcasted anything in HDTV?  For the most part I get the SD type similar to ch. 18 and 24.

Tom,

That link does not seem to work. Page tries to open up, but then comes back with an error.

Hmm... it appears that 100000watts.com has taken over, as tmi.net has dissappeared. And the new site is accessible via subscription only...
