Folks,

I received the Hauppauge WinTV-D pc card yesterday and I didn't waste no time installing it, and its drivers and software. I am able to select thru regular TV channels as well as DTV and cable.  Right now I have it connected to the outdoor antenna and receiving all of the Milwaukee area Analog TV channels. However I only get WMVS-DT, WTMJ-DT, and WISN-DT very well.  I was very impressed with the sharp CD quality video. With my analog TV on the side, there is a couple of second delay between video & audio, which is rather expected.

I had the pc card scan the channels to set it up, and the only DTV stations it detected were WMVS-DT, WTMJ-DT, and WISN-DT, it also got a DTV on ch. 25 but its nothing but a black blank screen with no programming whatsoever.  I was unable to detect DTV chs. 22, 33, 46, 61 and a couple other DTV channels we have. Is WVTV-DT, WDJT-DT, WVCY-DT off the air?  Or does my antenna have to be adjusted to receive them?  What about the blank black picture on DTV-25?  Is WCGV-TV not rebroadcasting over their digital? If so, even thou I detect a DTV on ch. 25, will positioning my antenna help bring about video and audio also?  If this is the case, having to adjust antenna to solve my problems, then I guess DTV is very strict about receiving proper sync signals.

The stations that you have listed are all running low power.  Most are 1000 watts or lower.  Compared to the others that are running much higher power.  Also what type of antenna and coax are you using?  Since most of the DTV channels are UHF it is important to have good low loss coax like RG6.  Antenna aiming is also very important with low power digital signals.  I think most people who have rabbits have found that out the hard way.  Most likly you will not pick up the fox channel 33.  It is only about 150 above the ground in Brown Deer compared to the others at 1000 feet on capital drive.
