New season/version of Soundstage beginning this month on PBS... Lyle Lovett, Doobie Brothers, Tori Amos, Tom Petty and a slew of others...  all in HD.

The Channel 10 HD Schedule doesn't show it. So will it be on in Milwaukee OTA on Channel 10's digital channel or not.  And if so, when???

Now, rememeber, the reason that they don't carry the live PBS feed on 10d is because they don't want to confuse people. ;)

According to http://www.ptvdigital.org/dt2a_jul.html, Thursdays at 9 PM with repeats Saturday.  According to the schedule, it's in HD  (though I'm not sure if there's much benefit to seeing Tom Petty in HD).  I'm hoping that this will be on the PBS HD feed TWC provides on 510, which usually follows the schedule linked above (one of the few benefits of TWC).

Tom Snyder

Yeah.. TWC people will see it at those times. Then there's the issue of a little thing called WMVS's FCC-licensed, primary over the air signal. Between their 5 or 6 multicasted channels there and a new all HD version of channel 36, it's anyone's guess when/if those of us who get them over the air will see this.

My guess is that it runs after the 3AM Barney and Dragontales marathons. :D When is the 24hr HD station supposed to go live?

I tried tuning to 10-2 using the schedule at titantv.com and did not find the broadcast.  :bang:

Is it going to be in DD 5.1?

AVS reports that the Indianapolis affiliate was broadcasting it in 5.1

I just exchnaged emails Karen. She INSISTS that this schedule is exactly what you will see on 8-1 at the listed times, and therefore Soundstage WILL be on 8-1 OTA on Thursday night at 9pm.

We'll see! I'm going to test Wrestling City Kids tonight at 8....

If 8-1 doesn't work it might be on 10-2.  Who knows where they will be mapping.

I watched the Tom Petty show on TWC 510.  The video was flawless but the audio wasn't in 5.1 (it still sounded great).  Overall, it was awesome, but I have to admit that I like Tom Petty a lot (I just saw him at Summerfest too).

That was one of the first time I saw something on 510 that wasn't part of the HD loop. I think I've seen the "Classic Cars of Cuba" about 100 times.

Tom Snyder

Watching it right now OTA... PQ is nice... No 5.1... but still pretty outstanding...

And it's on when they said. Thanks WMVS..

Got this from a friend of mine at PBS.

Neither version of SOUN #1002-#1004 will have Surround Sound.

#1002, "Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers" (Part 2)
#1003, "Alison Krauss + Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas"
#1004, "Michael McDonald, Ashford and Simpson, featuring Doobie Brothers, Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons"

Looks like they must have had some problems with surround sound.

I watched and listened a bit last night.  The picture quality was nice.  The sound acted pretty strange for me.  It started out OK decoding as pro logic.  Then after a little bit it got stuck in the center channel and became very quiet.  I removed the pro logic decoding and listened as regular stereo, but had to turn the volume up real loud to get to my normal listening volume.  Channel 10 analog's sound worked fine in pro logic decoding.  I lost interest fairly quickly and abandoned the show.
