Hey stranger! Welcome back!

Can't wait to get home and see if I have them. Went to directv.com and my account shows me already signed up for HDTV, but I suspect they'll make me jump through some more hoops to get these.  Last time I wanted to add a tier of programming, they told me I couldn't add anything.. I had to start over with a whole new package configuration, and it was going to raise my rate... if that happens here, that'll make think twice about adding it... the HD package will end up adding 20 bucks to my monthly charge...

Tom - You will need to add it. You can call them or do it from the website. It is called HD Package. If you do it from the website just click change programming and select add services. It is right under playboy. Watch where you click. :p

If you don't do this you will just get the notorious Ext. 721 banner.

Also note that they are requiring a Total Choice package for this (you can get away with Select I believe). If you only have some grandfathered ala carte (HBO, Sunday Ticket, etc) you may have problems.

Went to the web site first thing this morning. Dropped Starz and added the HD package. Went downstairs, turned on the set, and the new package was active. Sweet!

I had a similar experience to Steve. Actually, what I did was leave the 721 message on DiscoveryHD while I was activating.

I dumped HBO, added the becoming-infamous 'HD package' and literally, within a blink of an eye from hitting 'Accept the package change' did Discovery pop on.

Very sweet, indeed !

It wouldn't let me add the HDTV package. I  had to rebuild my package... Total Choice and the HBO/Skin-e-max package along with the locals (thanks to Fox 6... the only local digital channel I can't get with my antenna).  Watching Discovery now... nice! :)
