So, 7/1 is right around the corner and I haven't read much buzz here if any of us will be picking up the HD package from DirecTV.

It includes HDNet, HDNet Movies, ESPN-HD, and Discovery HD Theater.

What everyone's thought ?

I'm ditching HBO in lieu of the package ...

I plan to but I am not that excited about it.  I am not too interested in the current movie list for HDNet Movies and Discovery HD Theater may have some programs i'll watch if nothing else is on and I don't have anything better to do.

Sports is the only reason i'll get the package.  HDNet has the CART race up in Elkhart Lake and I won't be missing that.  and there may be some other sporting events on espn i'll watch.

i'll give it a few months and see what happens during the football season for sunday night football.  I may drop it if I am only watching a few events each month.

I will be keeping my HBO-HD as I do watch the more often than HDNet and ESPN.

I'm going to try and order it as a stand alone product.  If they try to force me to buy a different package with it, I will pass.  I'll have to get a dish and have it installed as well.

I had DIRECTV installed on Monday.  I tried to sign up for this new package and the customer service rep couldn't find any record of this existing.  I did tell her that July 1st was the launch date, and I understood DIRECTV was making outbound calls to sign people up.  She put me on hold and asked her boss who also knew nothing about this new package.
