HDTV From Starz?

This week's national cable show in Chicago could open with a bang from Starz Encore and its leader, John Sie.

According to CableFAX Daily, Sie and Starz Encore may announce today that the company plans to unveil an HD slate. CableFAX said Starz's HD plans may include a launch of at least two - maybe three - HD-specific channels, plus other multiplexed nets.

Starz did not comment on the story.

Sie had been known as a detractor of HD technology. CableFAX said Sie may still have gripes about HD, but major concerns appear to have been mitigated.
