I recently picked up the Pioneer Voyager cable box. It has a lot of nice features but I noticed Channel 512 on TWC wasn't working. No problem I figured as channels occasionally go out. After a couple of days of having the box (today) I called up TWC because I couldn't get INDemand. They reset the box and it came on. I mentioned that I couldn't channel 512. The rep said that they are having problems and are not recieving the signal. I figured okay its not on my end.  I turn on the basketball game and no HD channel 512. I flicked thru my tv input button to get the game on and there was the game coming in HD thru my vcr! I'm confused as how this can happen. It is definitely coming in HD. All the commercials are SD letterboxed. Is this normal?

the Pioneer box up or down converts to all the outputs. So, if you turn on an HD channel, the video out to your vcr was down converted. (this allows you to record an HD show in SD) Doesn't explain why you didn't see it in HD on your TV. I tuned in the game Friday night and watched a little so no problem with 512 in HD. One of my tests for signal strength is that the InDemand channels must work even thou I don't watch them. Might be time for service call.

Mike  I think your right about the service call. I think its time to bite the bullet and get a rewire job. Its always been suggested by the techs when they come over but they always seem to be able to tweak it enough to get it to work. There are several splitters throughout the house. Guess if I want the best picture on my big screen I should get the best possible signal strength. That means a dedicated line straight to my tv. Perhaps I should put TWC on speed dial.
