TWC picture quality better when roadrunner exists?

My neighbor recently bought a new set and switched to TWC. His analog channels are horrible compared to mine. Granted the analog TWC aren't great to begin with, but mine are noticeably better.  The HD channels aren't as noticeably different. We have the same box and same TV (different model years tho).

Initially I had intermittant problems with roadrunner service. When the  techs came out they were always measuring my signal strength and it had to be at a certain level for roadrunner to be fast and reliable.  A few cables were replaced and some work was done at the box outside. Now everything is where it should be, both roadrunner/HD work very well and analog channles are acceptable but better than others I've seen.

First question: Does roadrunner require a stronger signal than HD/analog TV

Second: Are those with roadrunner receiving better picture quality.

Third: If both of the above questions are true can a consumer demand a stronger signal w/o roadrunner

I added Road Runner when it was first available in my area. The cable modem would not connect so the tech did the same things at my house plus changed the splitter. The analog channels did get better. I now have the new Pioneer HD box and just added a DVI cable. Don't know why but the analog channels thru the DVI are better yet.

When you have Roadrunner, they have to know how many TV connections you have and they soemhow "balance" it accordingly... appatrenyl that makes some differnce although the PQ for my local channels and the tier of channels that includes Fox News just sucked either way...

No.

N/A

Without more investigation, nothing can be ruled in or out.  This issue may or may not even be related to levels, so it's time to schedule a service call.

IMO, analog TV was never designed to be displayed on the screen sizes technology now offers.  IMO, anything over 36" is going to have problems.  That's why we have HD!:D
