Steve Martin, while hosting the Oscars:

"Tonight marks the first time the Oscars are being broadcast in High Definition.  That means I need to say "Hi" to you three guys at Circuit City who are watching..."

Yuck it up, Steve. ;)

From my vantage point here in the projection TV isle at Circuit City, I'm wondering what that plastic bar is at foot level.  Is that to keep him from falling off the stage?:D

Hey, Kevin and Tom. Nice to be here, in Circuit City with you watching the Academy Awards.

... guess I won't be going to see/renting/buying 'Bringing Down the House' (with Steve Martin & Queen Latifah)

This must mean that, now us three have weighed in, no one else will comment ??

His count was off by at least one. Outside of a couple signal "glitches" early on, I thought the picture was gorgeous. Actually sat through the entire program, which I've rarely done in the past. Of course, it helped tremendously that it "only" ran 3 1/2 hours. This was the shortest show I can remember going back a LONG time.

I thought ABC did a fantastic job with the HD broadcast. I was wondering how they were going to show the movie clips, but even those were shown in HD. Very cool.

I swear, the first thing internet users always do when they disagree with something is threaten to boycott them. How many times on this forum have people written that they aren't going to buy/rent/watch/listen to FOX/Best Buy/MP3's/Time Warner/Sony/ etc?

'spose I should've put a smiley after the remark.

I thought the sarcasm would be obvious.
