Does anybody know which ncaa games that are left will be televised in HD other than the semis and the final games.  Will we get any sweet 16 or elite 8 games in HD...... I also heard the ncaa division II championship game is to be in HD.  please help, thanks

From the CBS website:

Coverage will include 12 High Definition games starting with first-round action from Birmingham, Ala., on Friday, March 21 (four games) and Sunday, March 23 (two games), as well as South Region action in San Antonio, Friday, March 28 (two games) and Sunday, March 30 (one game). The first eight games will be regionalized broadcasts, while the South Region final in San Antonio, the two national semi-final games and the National Championship Game will be national broadcasts.

Thus, we will have to hope either Marquette or Wisconsin make it to the Final Four to see them in HD.  Too bad they are both in Minn. rather than San Antonio.

I havent seen one darn game in hd yet for the ncaa tournament.  This years so call HD march madness has been anything but HD.  Too bad cbs is missing out on a great thing to nationally broadcast more games.  their loss!!!

Has anyone spoken with CBS or TWC regarding whether the Wisconsin and Marquette games will be broadcast on TWC 505 in HDTV?

For all the advertising that CBS did regarding the tourney in HDTV, this has been less than impressive.

Danazc,

In my post above it states that the only games in HD Thurs-Sun will be those played in SanAntonio.  Thus nothing for Wisconsin or MU.  My guess is that CBS has limited equipment and cannot shoot a game in HD at more that one site right now.  Final Four games will all be HD.

Mrtanner

Not showing  Wisconsin and Marquette games on TWC 505 is inexcuseable!  What percentage of your audience is interested in the other multicast channels vs. the percentage that wants to see the local teams in better (I realize it's not true HD from Minnesota) quality?

GJC

Mrtanner, you can't blame channel 58.  It's CBS that chose which location to broadcast HD from and unfortunately for us, they didn't choose Indianapolis, Spokane, or Minneapolis.  Neither CBS 58 or TWC can do anything about this, there simply is no HD feed available from the network.

Mrtanner

I'm not complaining that the Midwest regional is not in true HD.  That's a CBS decision and I'm grateful that any of the regionals are in HD.

CBS 58 is feeding NO signal to TWC for their wider bandwidth channel 505.  A conventional feed through the HD bandwidth 505 is significantly better than I'm watching right now.

I am very disappointed with the CBS 58 decision to multicast games tonight instead of using their HD feed to broadcast the San Antonion games tonight.

It makes no sense - what % of the population even has access to this multicast.  The one event that should be broadcast in HD is taken off the air so they can multi-cast games.  I'm sure a lot of people in the Milwaukee area were watching the multi-cast games last night while Wisconsin & Marquette were on the primary Channel 58 (not).

I guess that finally on Sunday we will be able to watch an HD game Texas/UConn winner vs. Mich St./Maryland winner.

CBS 58 really blew it on this one!

Danazc

CBS BLEW THE WHOLE HD MARCH MADNESS THING IN MY BOOK.  THEY BRAGGED ABOUT ALL THE 12 GAMES IN HD AND IT LOOKS LIKE WE WILL GET 4 WHOLE GAMES!!!  BAD MOVE CBS!!!

Matt Heebner

Let me get this straight....they are NOT showing the HD games tonight, Friday Mar. 28 ??? I have been waiting to see HD NCAA for two weeks now, and was totally looking forward to tonights games, and now I am finding out that CBS is multi-freaking-casting these too ??????????:bang: :bang: :bang:
I won't be watching if it's not in HD.

Why? We are the only ones even getting the digital broadcast, and WE WANT HIGH DEFINITION !!!! CBS is totally blowing this event, and I am starting to get upset at what they are doing.

COME ON CBS, SHOW THE GAMES IN HD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
