I guess I need a new antenna. I've got a terk 55 but I'm not getting too many digitail stations with it. I live in racine by the lake, I would like to be able to get milwaukee and chicago, I would like to stay with the same 10' shaft mounted to my chimeny. Any suggestions would be greatly appericated. Thanx

If it rotates, something like a ChannelMaster 4228 would have a low wind load, very good UHF reception, and cost about $50.  If you want to combine analog and VHF as well, there are several options from CM, Winegard, and Radio Shack that may work well.  Keep in mind that splits cut signal strength by half, so keep that in mind.

Terk antenna's seem to perform better in urban areas, as they get further from the source, their styling and design quickly impedes their performance.   But they look better than a 100" boom, 33 element antenna....

I went and got an vu-160xr from radio shed. As far as Milwaukee goes, I didn't fair any better than with terk 55, but when I turned it to the south, low and be hold there was a bounty of treasures. I'm now getting 19 wgn-wb chic. weak to fair, 29 nbc chic. full strength, 31 faux chic weak, 45 tel good, 47 pbs chic. full strength, 52 abc chic. full strength, and even 51 upn of GARY in. @ full strength (which is great news for a Enterprise fan:D ,not hd but wide screen, hopefully not letterboxed).Still can't get a cbs station, you'd think such an HDTV forward thinking network whould make sure their signal could be seen.
I guess I need to think about going higher, just not sure how I want to do that just yet. But to only get a cuople of channels from Milwaukee, not sure its worth getting a rotor.

I think I'll be stickin' 'round here though, don't know if I could stand interacting with all those @%@# southerners. Its bad enough having watch there news.

One thing I've notice, on abc upn and pbs, they zoom in on 4:3 material on the main channel and then letterboxed on the sub-channel (which works better with my set-up).
