Ever cleaned your RPTV's optics?

I was looking inside my RPTV the day, as it is 14 months old. I tilted the picture screen forward an inch or so and used a Maglite to look at the 3 gun lenses and the mirror. The mirror was dusty and the lenses are too.
Have you ever cleaned your mirror and/or the color gun lenses? If so, could you share your experience with us? I've read on other HDTV forums that special care is required in cleaning, but most RPTVs  are "dirty" when shipped from the factory. Also, it has been recommended on numerous posts that these TVs be cleaned annually, at the least.

When I had my Mits open to install the Duvetyne last year, I cleaned my optics using those 'micro-fiber' cloths by 3-M. They worked perfectly. The optics were a bit dusty, but not really dirty. If you use any cleaner, I would be sure to use the mildest available class cleaner with no extras like ammonia.

It's been about a year since I did the Duv project. Thanks to your reminder, I guess I had better pop off the screen and take a look at things.

Steve: It's surprising how "dusty" the innerds of a rear projection unit can get in a year's time. Come to think of it, it IS a high-voltage,hence electrostatically-charged environment!
