The next question is then: When will we see it on our local carriers (ie: TWC)?

Mrtanner

I don't know if we need to keep asking to get visability at TWC for this.  Here is the form-letter response I received to my inquiry.
=======================================

I have recently received your email to Time Warner Cable regarding your request for ESPN in HDTV format. This programming is not yet available in Southeastern Wisconsin. I have taken the liberty of forwarding your suggestion for channel lineup change to our Marketing Department. Thank you for your suggestion as we continue to provide the best in home entertainment.

If you have any future questions or account concerns, please feel free to visit us online at http://www.timewarnerwi.com.

Thank you for using Time Warner Cable!

Do you think it would help to write or no??

It can't hurt. I just don't understand why they can't say they're 'in negotiations' or something like that. Obviously, this channel doesn't even exist yet, so we can't get upset that they're not carrying it. But some acknowledgement that they're trying to get it would be nice.

And good luck calling DirecTv.

The gentleman I talked to today had NO idea what I was talking about. After asking if I could talk to a technician he got a little snippy and stated they would not know either.

He hung up on me after I asked him if because he didn't know, does that mean the entire DirecTv heirarchy didn't know. I suppose he didn't like that very much......

I called TWC and they indicated that TWC will be picking up ESPN HD.  She just wasn't sure when that would be.  Apparently, TWC will be including an announcement in their next billing describing the services.

So not much detail, but at least it appears that TWC will be broadcasting ESPN HD.

Here is a response I recieved today in response to my inquiry on their web site regarding ESPNHD:

"Dear Mr. Zwickey:

Thanks for asking.

At this time, Time Warner Cable does not have a carriage agreement with the ESPN HD. We are adding High Definition programming as soon as possible after completion of agreements. Please watch the TV Guide Channel for notices of upcoming channel launches.

We appreciate your interest in this channel and have forwarded your comments to our Marketing Department for future consideration.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Looks pretty vague to me
