How does VOD on TWC work?

(these acronyms are getting out of control!)

I was flipping through my interactive guide and noticed all my Video-on-demand choices with my TWC digital cable.  I have the basic $39.95 package (which I think turns out to $50+ per mo with all the lovely addl fees)

Anyway, some of the VOD titles don't have a price next to them.  Do I assume these are free?  Also I tried to order an episode of "Insomniac with Dave Attell" from the Comedy Central VOD channel and couldn't get it to work.  Do I need a bigger package before I can use this? (my wife thinks so)

Have any of you used this feature.... successfuly?

I have used it alot for movies. It works for a 24 hr period...so if someone...my wife...falls asleep, she can watch where she left off the next day. You control it just like a dvd or tape. It is kinda cool. I pay 3.99 I think for movies. I have not tried the comedy channel or HGTV, etc.

What is also cool is NASCAR in demand!

Try checking out the VOD channels in the 1100's...those are (mostly) all free ones.  For instance, the Comedy Central VOD channel has a bunch of short clips you can stream to your TV and watch, and also a few full half-hour shows.  Once you've found your choice, hit select to bring it up...then it'll say to hit the "play" arrow to start it (I think it also warns you to make sure your VOD button is set to VOD on your remote).  I've never had to touch the VOD button, so I just assume it's always been set in the right position.  You can FF, REW, STOP, and PLAY just like a VCR.  So if the show you're seeing for the first time SUCKS, just stop it and move on to the next.  I like the music on demand, because you can watch music videos of popular current bands.  It's hard to actually catch MTV when they're playing MUSIC, so this is the next best thing!
