I am interested in knowing what your plans are for HDTV broadcasting. I am in Wauwatosa and should be able to get your signal fine, yet I along with others who should be able to receive it can't. Do you have plans on upgrading your tower anytime soon? There are those of us who looked forward to May 1st as a great day in television history only to be met by stations such as yours who refuse to support HDTV or even DTV in general. I feel that providing a weak signal that is unreceivable by someone living less than 10 miles away is a lack of support. I look forward to receiving a response from you. Thank you.

Good Luck! I've emailed them numerous times to different departments and have yet to hear anything back. FOX doesn't seem like it is very interested in putting out a digital signal, and what customers can/cannot receive it. It's times like these that I wish Jim or Sean would do an news story on what is going on with ABC and FOX. Man I would love to see them just whoop up on the non-deadline making stations....hard feelings be damned!!

WITI/WITI-DT.  What channel do I turn to in order to receive the signal? Do I need more equipment than a high definition TV with a decoder box to receive your signal? Help!

I've seen that also. I can't believe thay would show a DT after their call sign. Thats pretty "in your face".

Well, I got a reply from an engineer at WITI. For what it's worth I give them SOME credit. Between saying where they are broadcasting from, people on this baord claiming a 100% signal strength with a rooftop, and the fact that they only have an STA, I guess I'll just have to sit and wait. Sigh..

 

I was discussing your situation with Mr. Baich.
One point that came up was orienting the receive antenna to our current transmission site which is on our tower in Brown Deer. If you were trying to maximize signal strength by pointing your antenna at our tower on Capitol Drive, you would be about 45 degrees off of the peak. As directional as UHF antennas are, this could drop your received signal level quite a bit.

Here are some numbers that show where the Brown Deer tower is from your location in comparison to the tower on Capitol Drive (where the antenna will be located after the tower work has been completed).

69th & Bluemound to Capitol Drive tower:  6.42 mi. at 54.24 degrees from North. 69th & Bluemound to Brown Deer tower:  10.18 mi. at 10.16 degrees from North.

If you have a rotor, you could easily try the new direction; if not, perhaps an orientation that would be a compromise between locations for the time being would work for you.

P.S. As soon as someone successfully receives this signal with an RSDBT, please let me know how you did it.

BTW, how do these degree numbers work? Is it clockwise or counter clockwise with north at noon?

Replay it's clockwise starting at North being 0 degrees, east being 90, south 180 and west 270.

So remount the damn antenna, buy a linear amp from 7 mile fair and hook it up in line and try, oh try transmitting Fox's fantastic widescreen SHDTV (sorta high digital tv) so at least some of your customers who have bothered to spend thousands can actually view your product.  And while your at it, consider communicating with the customers or do you like getting slammed repeatedly online? Kind of makes me wish Storer Broadcasting still had a hand in this.

Some sort of tower work is just starting next door to us on the Fox 6 tower. I'm not sure what they will be doing.
