When will we see "inexpensive" DTV receivers?

Does anyone have any idea when we will see receivers for digital TV signals that will be cheaper and presumably output only 480i or 480p?  I have three older TV's in the house and I would love at least one more receiver but I would like to see a price point at or under $100.  Does anyone have any ideas or come across any  information about this?  Are we not going to see them until the end of analog broadcasting looms large for the general public in 2006 or later?

Just wondering...

Great point. I know of no one making any sets with ATSC tuners in the less than 30" category.  I think they were waiting for the agreement with cable so they could put cable compatible tuners in for HD.  I have read that later this year some of those sets will show up in the pipeline.  What we'll also see is the fire-sale prices of the NTSC sets as manufacturer's and retailers try to clean out their inventories of sets over the next few years.  I think we'll see prices for analog 27" sets at $75 or less.  Maybe our Flanner's people can clue us in on what the trade papers are saying.

my guess is the STB won't hit the $100 range until probably 2005. It's unfortunate, but considering the retail price is currently around $400 for a new box, it will take at least two eyars, and that is only if it increases on a rate with DVD growth when it was at the same numbers...
