Last week, WMVS/PBS showed an Itzhak Perlman concert in HD.  I was able to pick it up on TWC ch 510, but 10-1 on my OTA tuner had a completely different program.  Same thing last night with the HD Alaska program.  Anyone know what's going on at WMVS?

John:

I have been scratching my head over this as well.  I have had a few emails back and forth with Karen C. who works in the scheduling area of MPTV.  The response was clearly a "I don't know what happened" response.  I get the feeling the left hand does not know what is happening with the right hand.  I realize this sounds pretty negative but I believe if you saw the response you would agree.

The emails concluded with her sharing the main switchboard number to report over the air problems.  Also, if the switchboard is closed, you are to stay on the phone and an after hours problem reporting number would be given.  You then are supposed to call that number and report the problem to a recording machine.  This after suggesting that maybe they could define someone from this group to have a direct access number to report real time problems

:bang: Broadcasting is becoming a lost art :bang:

Actually, customer service is the lost art.  ;)

John,

What you are seeing on TWC is the not on the air yet Channel 35 feed.  Currently 10-1 will switch from 5 SD channels to one HD based on the schedule posted on their website.  What is shown on TWC is usually the PBS HD feed.  Usually on tuesday and Thursday they air a couple of local shows at 8 or 9pm.

I have been told that they will have full time HD once channel 35 is on the air.  They are waiting for the transmitter to show and be installed.  They are hoping that this will happen by May 1.

From my understanding they have one or two people who handle the automated schedule of channel 10-1.  They have also had problems with the automation system that is suppose to control it.  They were sold something that was suppose to work but never did.  So everything must be entered by hand.
