--Over-the-Air DTV Signals in Markets that Include Over 96% of TV Homes-


      WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that 24 more television stations have begun transmitting a digital signal.


 This brings to 724 the number of stations broadcasting in digital. DTV signals are now being transmitted in 179 markets that include 96.69% of U.S. TV households. In addition, 70.37% of the more than 106 million U.S. TV households are in markets with five or more broadcasters airing DTV and 36.55% are in markets with eight or more broadcasters sending digital signals.
