IMPORTANT PROGRAM NOTE:
Watch Hogan's Heroes and Mission Impossible in HD this week and let us know
what you think!

HDNet is testing the conversion of some classic TV episodes from 35mm film
to HD and we want to get feedback from YOU, our viewers.  Tune in this week
to watch several episodes of Hogan's Heroes and Mission Impossible.  How
does the 35mm conversion look on your HDTV set?  Should we add more classic
TV shows or not?  Send an email to Mark Cuban at with your
thoughts.

The schedule shows it starting at 3pm on Monday.....so some of you probably won't see it if you're at work...I didn't peruse the whole schedule so go take a look

The HD Speed Racer episodes they have been running at 9am have looked awesome.

But thanks for the tip on Hogans Heroes, I'll be sure to check them out.

Speed Racer looks awesome, but has also been pretty butchered to fit it in 16x9. I hope that these are not butchered as bad. I guess ideally they would have been shot at Academy ratio (1.85:1) and cropped for television, but I imagine they were in fact shot at 1.37:1 and will end up cropped on HDNet. Everything should be OAR, even if it means dealing with letterboxing all over again.

I got to catch part of Hogan and Mission this afternoon.  No letterbox and a good quality picture.  Look forward to seeing more. We ought to get Mark Kuban to join our Chat line.  Maybe he could do something with the jerks at 6 and 12.

I sent this to Mark Cuban:

I really enjoy the conversions of Mission Impossible....will watch Hogans next.   They are as fine as some of the Films shown on HBO-HD and better than those on Show-HD....by the way interesting item with MI.  They must have filmed and then converted to Black&White Video as some of the background scenes ect. through windows were in Blank and White.  I guess they never figured that someone 30 plus years later would convert it to theater quality.

Keep up the great work as we enjoy hdnet.  Also we have a local owner's group http://milwaukeehdtv.org  with a message board and made sure that everyone knew these programs were coming.  Hopefully the next time your production crew comes to Milwaukee for a Brewers game we can set up a tour with the production trailer people
