Is it going to be possible or not?

Pat

Good question.  I would guess yes, but have no real info to support that.  With HDTV, it seems to me that different sub-channels on the same carrier (like channel 58 and channel 10 do) would be relatively easy to do: maybe some more CPU horsepower and memory, but no additional tuner needed -- not much value there, however.

To get an arbitrary second channel would require a 2nd tuner and definitely more CPU power and memory.

Additional CPU power and memory is pretty cheap, and tuners are not expensive either, so I would guess they'll get around to it pretty soon.

Of course you can already PIP an analog channel onto a digital one and vice-versa.  You knew that, right?

I cant use pip at all when using component video inputs.

Actually, I may be mistaken with the "and vice versa" part.  My PIP *may* only put analog onto digital, not the reverse.  I'll have to check when I get home, but I seem to recall being able to do either way.  Definitely no digital on digital.

This a 2-year old Mitsubishi 65" with a separate HD tuner.
