Got this blurb from Jim Hall:

CBS affiliates were pleased to find out that the network is planning more HDTV programming. During a meeting with affiliates at NATPE, CBS execs announced that The Late Show With David Letterman would be broadcast in HDTV beginning in September, and that the network is working to produce at least one NFL "A" game per week in HDTV next season.

Quoteand that the network is working to produce at least one NFL "A" game per week in HDTV next season.

Awesome.  I've said it before, I think the NFL in HD is what's going to give the technology a kick-in-the-pants acceptance wise.

Just guessing, but I would bet the main demographic buying HDTVs would be: Male, over 25, middle income.

Hmm just guessing, but the main demographic watching the NFL on Sunday: Male, over 25, middle income.

It certainly helps to get more NFL, and I personally would enjoy seeing some NASCAR in HD too!

Great news! Still, it's going to suck waiting till Sept for Letterman.

OH MAN, OH MAN, OH MAN....:D :D

Think about this....wake up on Sunday morning....watch the Pack at noon, flip to the CBS HD game at 3:30, sit back and enjoy. After that game, turn on ESPN HD Sportscenter, then watch ESPN HD Sunday night football! Sit back and enjoy. Go to work Monday...do a little bragging about the awesome HD football...go home, throw in a pizza and sit back and watch Monday Night Football in HD!

Sundays and Monday could turn into my favorite days of the week!

Matt

ps....I think we should have a count down somewhere on the website till HD football.

Todd Wiedemann

I saw a countdown thingy on one of the support websites ... I can get it to Tom.

I used to say that there only two sports...football... and college football....

Now I willl say there is only one sport... Football on HDTV...High School, College, Pro... doesn't matter as long as it is on HDTV!

P.S. Auto racing would be cool too, but I am not sure if I consider that a sport...exactly.
