Just wondering if anyone living in an area covered by Charter Cable has heard anything on when they'll begin HDTV service.  In November I was told that they were hoping to launch service in December, and at the end of the year I was told that they were still testing things out and weren't sure how much longer it would be. Thanx.

I heard by the year 2005-06.They are going to wait til the last minute.I hope that is not true. But until they get all channels in hdtv, over the air will work for me.

I posted a note about Charters Digital cable a few monts ago, when my Aunt signed up with them.

After they hooked her new digital cable box up I thought I would stop by to have a look at it.

I don't know legally how they can get away with what they are doing.  Right on the front of the STB it has a Dolby Digital 5.1 logo, but when you look in the back, it has nothing but red, white, and yellow composite hookups.  No digital audio outputs anywhere, and not even an SVideo output.

And the funny part was that the guy who came out to install it only used the standard coax to attach it to the TV, and told my Aunt that she needed "special equiptment" to hook it up to her Receiver.
