PBS is in HD on TWC !!!

Channel 710, normally reserved for the HDTV demo channel is showing PBS is hidef tonight!  Real programming with real ads.  No demos....

Its 11pm and Nova (Japan's secret garden) is currently on.  Bl**dly hell (please excuse my englishness) but the picture looks amazing.

This is the first time I have seen HDCAM that is a real progam, rather than film transfers.  Its is very very good.

All cable guides, even on the digibox, says it is still the demo but it is not.  I hope this is the start of a regular program feed.  Lets hope so.  

Unfortunately I will expect to see the demo again tomorrow, but we'll see.  I will go to bed praying tonight to the high god TW!

Alas, it looks like we are back to the demo today.  Oh well!

It would not be so bad if the programs where in the cable guide, but they are not, and so we only know when they are on by accidentally finding them - as I did last night.

Actually, I've seen a few HD PBS shows on that channel.  It is unfortunate that the cable guide doesn't show these shows however.

Personally, I don't mind the demo channel and really wouldn't want it to disappear completely.

WHA-DT is currently using the same source as what TWC cable is running.  (I'm guessing)  It is the the national PBS HD feed on the AMC-3 satellite.  Has anyone tried searching for the guide at www.pbs.org?

Thanks for sending that link! From what I can tell, it does match the TWC demo loop (I'm pretty sure based on "Tracks Ahead" at 4pm that I've seen before.)

Just a shame the onscreen guide doesn't provide any useful information.
