ABC mixes everything to DD5.1 for sake of ease. I am assuming it requires less hardware at all ends to just mix for one sound format.

Is it local or national? For instance, any output to my receiver is checked and decoded to either DTS, DD 5/6.1, DD 2.0, 4.0, etc. Why don't they just send us the digital signal instead of remixing anything, let alone everything.

My first chance at "live" HD football and I'm out of town on business.....such is life. However, I made sure that my wife watched at least part of the game and said that the TWC CH. 505 was very good and clear. She noted that it was not as sharp as  the demo PBS channel, but I think I should expect that from recorded to live version. Anyway, looking forward to the SB and HD.........I am keeping the appointment book clear!! Thanks CBS 58 for getting this going!

All we need now is 5.1 audio. I recently watched a hockey game on HDNet in DD 5.1 and it was TOTALLY incredible! Talk about "being there". The sounds are almost as important as the picture.

Can not wait for Superbowl in HD and DD 5.1!
