WISN 12 (34DT) Technical Contact Information

WISN 12 (34DT) expressed that, in order to best serve us, the digital viewing community, they would like to have a single-point of contact from our group back to the engineering team. This point of contact would have the responsibility of gathering any problems or issues as they happen, make an informed judgment call regarding the severity of the issue and inform the engineering team, if appropriate. They asked if I would be that person and I accepted.

To that end, I'll offer my pager as a contact resource. It's with me 24/7 as I handle building security for my company. You may contact me, via e-mail, as well if it's a non-pressing issue.

The engineering team at WISN has recently renewed their interest in my helping them out with HD broadcast difficulties.

I've removed the year-and-a-half old issues and updated my contact info.

Other than occasionally falling asleep at the wheel with their OTA program guide data, I think they are doing a great job.

Many evenings go by that I don't check e-mail, whereas I have my pager nearby 24/7/365.

As much as myself and others appreciate your help Todd, the problems with WISN have become more prevalent over the past year and the service you offer is no longer sufficient.

There is absolutely no reason why we the viewer and you as a volunteer should have to babysit for WISN. This is after all their network and they should have someone doing this job.

Almost every night without hardly an exception  one or more of the following happens:
1) Switch not flipped or switched late for HD programming
2) Too long on local commercials that they miss programming
3) Have equipment failures during programming

This is something that would work if it was once month, but sadly they are not even close to that stage at WISN. I'm going to be complaining to Hearst-Argyle and ABC before the holidays about the situation. I know it probably won't help, but I'm sick of the failure that is the WISN switch and WISN has no intention of solving this on their own. This is unacceptable.

4 months later, the story remains the same. Somebody or the switch has to go at WISN. This is not working at all.

FWIW - Titan TV doesn't list Harry Potter as being broadcast in HD today

ABC does have it listed and is showing it in HD. I sure hope WISN isn't relying on TitanTV as they are frequently wrong.

Little League World Championship almost 20 minutes in, still not in HD.

(It's not listed as HD on TitanTV, however the game isn't tape delayed and it said at the beginning that it's in HD)

Wow just great... it didn't switch to HD until 1 hour 36 minutes into the program. Nice! :bang:

Yeah ... I got paged by someone but we were at the in-laws house.

In the past when I've called it happens instantly. I was sorry I couldn't call due to "social constraints" if you know what I mean. ;)
