TWC iNDemand

Has anyone with TWC digital cable been successful in using this feature?  I've gone through two digital boxes, and everytime I try to buy anything from iNDemand, I get a message saying "program not available....call customer service."

Just wondering if anyone has actually seen this work???

I tried one and it did not work.  I don't suspose I will ever try again.

I got it to work once right after I got my box. I think it was one of those BMW films things -- just did it to try it out. Recently I tried it with  Vertigo, to no avail. My purchase goes through, but I can't start the movie. It's just as well, though, it's less money that they're getting from me.

I was not able to get it to work at first either.  I would get the same message that I needed to contact customer service.  However, after I switched to one of TW's new service packages, they all worked just fine.

For those who have had problems, you've probably already tried this...but in case you haven't, this worked for me.

Try unplugging the box for a few minutes and then plug it back in and power it up.  It'll go through and connect itself to the network again.  We have 2 boxes in the house, 1 HD box and 1 normal digital.  The normal digital box is the one that gave us problems twice, and both times we just unplugged it and reconnected, and then the movie worked fine.  It's worth a try if you haven't already.

Even Satellite boxes need "rebooting" so you are right in the unplug and restart thing. Today's electronics are complex and we tend to forget this and take it all for granted...instead of swatting it  on the side like the old days to get it going-we should unplug and wait a few minutes or so and restart. I will bet a few returned cable boxes could have stayed at home if this wasn't tried first. Sometimes the service provider has to try on their end if this does not help. This seems to have worked for the past two posts.  

Off the subject-I noticed TWC is doing commercials about its HDTV offerings on its regular channels...good-going TWC!

If your still having a problem with your TWC in Demand, make a service call, you pay a cable bill, and they provide free service calls. As a tech for TWC I fix the problem everyday. Usually its a return problem, the box is not connecting to the hub. Most of the time its a bad connector at the tap, or poor cable and fittings in the house. Some situations require a return amp.

I'm unlikely to bother making a service call to get this problem fixed, as I have yet to even unplug to box to get it to reboot. I guess I really don't care that much about this "feature" of cable.

The likelihood of me using this feature even if it worked is extremely low, considering the dearth of quality films provided and the poor picture quality.

Holy cow man, just hurry up and move so you can get dish! Then I don't have to read the complaints everyday about TWC.

I use the I-control offered by TWC and agree it sometimes does not work. Usually rebooting the box will resolve the problem.

I'm done complaining about cable for a while now, with the addition of 58 in time for the game tomorrow. They even called me at home to tell me about it, probably because I bothered them so much.

I know my complaints can get tiresome, but if anyone from TWC reads this forum, I think it's important for them to understand the kind of negative publicity that can be generated by one irritated customer.

Having said that, I will try to be more constructive with my comments in the future.

Also, I got my I-control working when I rebooted my box to see if CBS was there. Some of the music stuff is neat. I'm a Coldplay fan, and there's a couple of their songs available. Cool!

Works fine for me - mostly.  Have had 1 or 2 service issues every now an then.  My gripe is they're not widescreen...

I was finally able to get it too work, but I'm not too impressed by the free stuff.  Same programming that they've been offering for months.

Historically, 95-98% of all requests are filled.  iControl requires a 2-way environment, as does the rest of Digital Cable.  If anything is preventing this from happening, the servers are essentially blocked.  This can be caused by excessive (more than around 4 ports) splitting, instalation of a one way amp, or splitters with insufficient bandwidth.  You will get the screen with all of the offers, but will be unable to start the selected event.  If you are having consistant problems, it may be some homeowner installed components kisted above may be in the way.  Another problem can occur when the VCR/VOD switch on your remote is set for the VCR mode.  It has to be in 'VOD' for the play signal to be recognized.
