Buddies on the forum?

I'm usually pretty dubious of buddies on chat software (aka Yahoo), but I was wondering if anyone was interested in using the Buddies that can be set up on this new software?

I added you to my buddy list, but I don't think it works like chat software, it just shows you when your "buddies" are online and you can PM them.  Or maybe I'm wrong.

I guess it might be useful for knowing who among us regulars are online - during quiet moments are work
