RF Surge Suppressor?

In my experimenting with various setups in trying to consistently pull in CBS-58 (ota) I noticed one other phenomenon that some others may be interested in, if they are on the edge of getting a signal it may make a difference.

Running the coax thru a surge supressor seems to have negative effects on me being able to pull in CBS-58 from my location.

I'm no hardware geek so I don't understand why and of course YMMV depending on your setup but thought I would point it out.
