SIX MORE STATIONS MAKE DTV TRANSITION

      WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that six more television stations have begun transmitting a digital signal.

     Of the six new DTV stations (listed below), two are the first in their market on air with DTV (marked with a *).

· WBOY* Clarksburg, WV (Market Rank #166) - a West Virginia Media Holdings - owned NBC affiliate
· WJAC Johnstown, PA (Market Rank #96) - a Cox - owned NBC affiliate
· WEDN Norwich, CT (Market Rank #27) - a PBS member station
· WMCF* Montgomery, AL (Market Rank #116) - a Trinity - owned independent
· KGAN Cedar Rapids, IA (Market Rank #88) - a Sinclair - owned CBS affiliate
· KFXA Cedar Rapids, IA (Market Rank #88) - a singly owned Fox affiliate


     This brings to 692 the number of stations broadcasting in digital. DTV signals are now being transmitted in 176 markets that include 95.975% of U.S. TV households. In addition, 69.24% of the more than 106 million U.S. TV households are in markets with five or more broadcasters airing DTV and 35.6% are in markets with eight or more broadcasters sending digital signals.
