--Over-the-Air DTV Signals in Markets that Include Over 95% of TV Homes--

       WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Broadcasters announced today that 16 more television stations have begun transmitting a digital signal.

       Of the 16 new DTV stations (listed below), three are the first in their market on air with DTV (marked with a *).

WDRB-TV Louisville, KY (market rank#50), Block Communications-owned Fox affiliate

WSTM-TV Syracuse, NY (market rank#80), Raycom-owned NBC affiliate
KOVT-TV Albuquerque, NM (market rank#49), Hearst-Argyle-owned ABC affiliate

       This brings to 681 the number of stations broadcasting in digital. DTV signals are now being transmitted in 171 markets that include 95.14% of U.S. TV households. In addition, 67.51% of the more than 106 million U.S. TV households are in markets with five or more broadcasters airing DTV and 35.6% are in markets with eight or more broadcasters sending digital signals.
